Job Opportunity for experienced R&D Engineer specialized in thermodynamic simulation and experiments of materials in Belgium
One of the world leaders in developing and manufacturing components/materials designed for heavy duty and high temperature industrial equipment is looking for an Engineer to join his global R&D Center of Excellence in Belgium.
He/she will be in charge of designing and carrying out experiments that will enable a better understanding of components/materials behavior and interactions under extreme thermomechanical conditions. This understanding will be instrumental in developing new testing protocols and in improving the resistance of materials and extending industrial applications of existing and new products.
An open-ended (ODC/CDI) employment contract is proposed together with an attractive compensation package and exciting career perspectives.
Main activities include:
Design and lead experiments to develop fundamental understanding of thermodynamic behavior of materials and to support new products development.
Design, develop and validate improved/new testing methods, processes and equipment.
Adapt testing standards to specific customer conditions and applications.
Monitor technology advances in literature, conferences and trade shows.
PhD degree in Chemical or Physics or Material Sciences
Experience in Material Sciences and Engineering for high temperature structural applications
Familiar with interactions between furnaces equipment and materials (e.g. steel, glass, ceramics, cement, ...)
Ability to design and carry-out thermodynamics simulation and experiments
Flexible (5-7 weeks /year abroad, up to 3 weeks in a row)
