2019 YCN Student's Evening

The 2019 Student's evening was organised by YCN, with the support of the JECS Trust, during the 2019 ECerS Conference, on Tuesday 18th June at the Murazzi Student Zone, which is located near the Po river, in one of the liveliest areas of Torino.

Young ceramist researchers, that is, Master and PhD students including early stage PhDs were invited to attend and had the opportunity to socialize, interact and discuss their work in a warm and festive atmosphere. A great opportunity to start professional and/or friendly relationships, to initiate collaborative networks and plan lab visits.  There were 137 participants!

Some presentations were made during the event:

  • The YCN committee has presented the Network, its activities and the Facebook Ceramic Social Club.
  • Raúl Bermejo, Chair of Structural and Functional Ceramics, Department of Materials Science, Montanuniversitaet Leoben, Austria, made a very interesting talk ““Alexa”… please give me an ERC Grant !!!".
  • Agnieszka Zurawska from The Institute of Power Engineering, Warsaw, Poland, made again the presentation for which she was awarded during the 2018 first YCN workshop.
  • Finally, the winner of the YCN 2019 best photo contest was also announced.
