The 9th Shaping Conference, organized jointly by the European Ceramic Society, the Polish Ceramic Society, and the Warsaw University of Technology, took place from September 25th to 27th, 2024, in Warsaw, Poland. It was a great honour and privilege to host such a distinguished group of professionals, researchers, and students from 27 countries, all passionate about shaping ceramic materials.
2025 ECerS International Ceramist Student Exchange Program - 1st call!
In the frame of the 2025 ECerS International Student exchange program, ECerS is opening a first call to allow grants to European Students to attend the 49th International Conference and Expo on Advance Ceramics and Composites (ICACC) in Daytona Beach, FL or the Electronic Materials and Applications (EMA) conference in Denver, Colorado, organised respectively in January and February 2025.
Next Deadline to apply to the JECS Trust is 30th November 2024!
Please note that the decisions of the JECS Trust board will not be known before end of February 2025. Activities submitted for the deadline of 30th November 2024 for support from the JECS Trust should then not begin before mid-March 2025.
2024 ECerS International Ceramist Student Exchange Program – 4th call!
In the frame of the 2024 ECerS International Student exchange program, ECerS is opening a 4th call, this time to allow grants to European Students to attend the 88th Annual Session of the Indian Ceramics Society and International Conference in Advanced Ceramics for Sustainability which will be organised by the Indian Ceramic Society in the campus of Indian Institute of Technology Madras (located in Chennai, India), from 28th to 30th November 2024.
ACerS is offering travelling grants of 1.500 $ to attend the two 2024 ECerS Summer Schools
The grants can be allowed to undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. students from non-European based universities. The 2024 ECerS Summer Schools will be held prior to Electroceramics XIX (Vilnius, Lithuania - School: 17-18 August 2024) and Shaping 9 (Warsaw, Poland - School: 24-25 September 2024)!

In the frame of the 2024 ECerS International Student exchange program, ECerS is opening a third call, this time to allow grants to European Students to attend the 2024 Fall meeting of Korean Ceramic Society (COEX) that will be organised by the Korean Ceramic Society in Seoul, Korea, from 16th to 18th October 2024.

Sadly, The European Ceramic Society has lost an esteemed member – Prof. Günter Petzow died on February 4, 2024, at the age of 97. He was an emeritus director of the Max Planck Institute (MPI) for Metals Research (now MPI for Intelligent Systems) and a professor at the University of Stuttgart and the Technical University Berlin.
