New Editor in chief for the Journal of ECerS!
Since first January 2024, the Editor in Chief of the Journal of the European Ceramic Society, JECS, is Prof. Jérôme Chevalier, from INSA Lyon, France.
He is succeeding to Prof. Richard Todd, from University of Oxford’s Department of Materials, UK, who has been managing the Journal since July 2010 as editor in Chief and to Sir Richard Brook, also from University of Oxford’s Department of Materials, who ran the Journal since its creation in 1988 until 2010.
On the occasion of the organisation of the last PEC (Permanent Executive Committee) meeting of ECerS that was held in Oxford on 20th February 2024, the 3 Editors met for a nice dinner.

We wish Professor Chevalier much success in his new duties, may he ensures that the Journal maintains its high quality and, why not, grows even more!

2026 ECerS International Ceramist Student Exchange Program – 1st call!
In the frame of the 2026 ECerS International Student exchange program, ECerS is opening a call to allow grants to European Students to attend the 50th ICACC (International Conference and Expo on Advanced Ceramics and Composites) that will be held from 25th to 30th January 2026 in Daytona Beach - Florida - United States!
Next Deadline to apply to the JECS Trust for Mobility projects is 30th November 2025!
Please note that the decisions of the JECS Trust board will not be known before mid-February 2026. Activities submitted for the deadline of 30th November 2025 for support from the JECS Trust should then not begin before Mid-March 2026.
