Exceptional facilities :

  • Powder synthesis and conditioning facilities from g to kg-scale
  • Thirty different shaping, sintering and coating technologies in one building (going from PVD, ALD, to screen printing, dip and spin coating, tape casting, injection molding and many others)
  • Jülich Coats: Specific wet coating technologies for electrochemical cells, including a unique 3-layer sequential tape casting machine
  • Jülich Thermal Spray Center for functional, comprising axial injection atmospheric plasma spray, suspension plasma spray, advanced vacuum plasma spraying unit, kinetics cold spray, HVOF/HVAF technology,   laser cladding unit, aerosol deposition
  • Worldwide unique portfolio of field assisted sintering techniques (loading dilatometry, flash sintering, several complementary FAST/SPS devices)
  • Membrane Center: new fabrication and testing facility for inorganic membranes, including clean room and permeation test benches
