Letter from YCN Committee Member, Maria Canillas, Spain
YCN Newsletter 11 - December 2021
Dear friends from YCN,
I write to all of you because it is my time to leave YCN. This professional and also personal stage ends here for me. After 3 years as a Committee member, I can say that I leave the YCN full of unequal experiences, beautiful memories and great friends.
Now, a new stage is just starting for me as a Permanent Executive Committee member of ECerS. It is my pleasure to know that I will have the chance to continue contributing to the Ceramists Community for a while longer.
It was, without doubt, a great satisfaction to work for this Network. You always show a positive and active attitude to YCN activities and events. I especially felt proud of the YCN Community during the last year. Instead to fall during the last hard times, we decided to create and participate in online activities and events. We kept our network alive and that means we are a great professional network.
But coming back a bit further in the past, I also had the chance to share with some of you face-to-face events. And why not say that, even better!, Ceramics also means Friends and Beers and joining people for food and drinks after work. How many memories are coming to my mind right now and make me smile while I am writing these words.
As usual, the most important part we take from experiences is the people. I have to say that in my way I found great friends. YCN and ECerS community have been a source of motivation and support for me. With them, I professionally grown but also personally evolved. I definitely found a great group of people, with excellent values and motivated to work for young researchers and professionals. There are no words to translate how grateful I feel to have the chance to live YCN.
Just to say not goodbye but see you soon, I hope you keep your dreams alive and work hard for them.
Best Regards,
María Canillas
