  • Nanoparticles and nanopowders for functional applications: Metal, metal oxide and semiconductor nanoparticles by wet chemistry methods, with controlled morphology, shape and surface chemistry, for optics, catalysis, gas sensor, solar management. Ceramic nanopowders with controlled porosity for application in catalysis and gas sensing.

  • Functional and structural thin coatings via wet chemistry: Coatings obtained from sol-gel, electrochemically assisted sol-gel, , nanocrystalline inks, chemical bath deposition for change of optical properties, improvement of mechanical properties, wettability, chemical functionalization, solar control.

  • Ceramic based nanocomposites: Composites made of ceramic nanoparticles embedded in polymeric, ceramic or hybrid organic-inorganic matrix for optical applications.

  • Nanostructured materials for gas sensor: Plasmonic gas sensors based on metal nanoparticles coupled with metal oxides, porous oxides and nanocomposites. Nanoporous films and membrane with controlled porosity.

  • Optical characterization of thin films and nanocomposite: refractive index measurements by spectroscopic ellipsometry in controlled environment (gas, liquid, temperature). Absorption/Transmission/Reflection by spectrophotometer in controlled environment (gas, liquid, temperature).
