Krakow 2022 Summer School

The ECerS conference and exhibition takes place every 2 years. As usual, an “ECerS Summer School” will be organized prior to the "Ceramics in Europe" conference that will be held in Krakow - Poland - in July 2022.

This year, the topic of the ECerS Summer School will be “Fundamentals and Advanced Technologies of Sintering” that will be developed during 2 days: Friday 8 and Saturday 9 July 2022.

Sintering is, generally speaking, the process of consolidating and densifying a powder compact during high temperature treatment. The process has been used for millennia and more specifically studied and described for about a century. Over the past 20 years, a series of special techniques have been developed with the aim of reducing energy consumption and preserving the environment.

The ECerS Summer School in Krakow will consist of 10 modules given by internationally renowned teachers who are experts in the field.

It is intended to welcome 50 to 70 young researchers from research and industrial fields around the world.

Deadline to register to the Summer School is 31st May 2022

The ACerS Ceramic and Glass Industry Foundation (CGIF) is offering grants of $1,000 in travel support to attend the Summer School for undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. students from non-European based universities - read more here!

Why Crystal Structure Matters: Decoding the Performance of Calcium Phosphate Biomaterials

In the world of calcium phosphate biomaterials, crystal structure is often the silent driver behind a material’s success—or failure. Whether we are developing bone graft substitutes or studying bioceramic interactions at the tissue interface, understanding the underlying crystal lattice isn’t just helpful—it’s essential.
