Aim
Within the challenges to be faced by today´s society, as environmental impact and energy efficiency of manufacturing processes, this Workshop aims to discuss the decarbonization of the ceramics industry through a holistic point of view, including:
1. the main determinants of energy and carbon emissions emerging from the ceramics industry;
2. the benefits to the ceramic industry from adopting more low-carbon technologies and identification of barriers to implement it;
3. current and new alternatives for implementation and research.
Format | In-person event
- set of talks/lectures on different aspects of the current ceramic industry status, from technologies to the market and on options for ceramics industry decarbonization, as electrification, heating and heat recovery, biofuels, waste recovering, and other emerging innovations.
- short oral presentations of the R&D work of the participants (Ph.D. students and research- case studies on the successful industrial implementation of options to decarbonize ers).
- Rump session, debate, and matchmaking event.
To Whom?
Dedicated to a wide public from researchers, materials engineers, students (Ph.D.), and ceramic companies interested in discussing, learning, and implementing actions towards the decarbonization of the ceramics industry, as well as alternative energy solutions.
Who will you meet?
Scientists, ds, and stakeholders on Energy and Decarbonization of the Ceramics Industryevelopers, industrie

Why Crystal Structure Matters: Decoding the Performance of Calcium Phosphate Biomaterials
In the world of calcium phosphate biomaterials, crystal structure is often the silent driver behind a material’s success—or failure. Whether we are developing bone graft substitutes or studying bioceramic interactions at the tissue interface, understanding the underlying crystal lattice isn’t just helpful—it’s essential.
