Research topics :

Main Lines of Activities

- CERAMIC PROCESS

  • Sustainability of the ceramic process in the frame of circular economy, to minimize industrial costs, maximize the productivity and improve technical performances of the end product (Dr. Elisa Rambaldi - rambaldi@centroceramico.it)

  • Environmental sustainability of ceramic process: monitoring of the air/water emissions, and workplace environment (Dr. Giuliana Bonvicini - bonvicini@centroceramico.it)

  • Energy performances of ceramic process (Eng. Barbara Mazzanti - mazzanti@centroceramico.it)

- CERAMIC MATERIALS

  • Functional glazes for ceramic tiles to improve properties such as high solar reflectance for building envelops; anti-slip characteristics for indoor/outdoor environments, etc. (Eng. Barbara Mazzanti - mazzanti@centroceramico.it)

  • High hydrophobic or high hydrophilic functional coatings (thin films) to improve surface cleanability (Dr. Giovanni Ridolfi - ridolfi@centroceramico.it)

  • Innovative porcelain glazes formulations for metal layers applications (Dr. Elisa Rambaldi - rambaldi@centroceramico.it)

  • Ceramic membranes for water filtration (Dr. Giovanni Ridolfi - ridolfi@centroceramico.it)

  • Ceramic materials for advanced and/or medical applications (Dr. Elisa Rambaldi - rambaldi@centroceramico.it)

  • Geopolymers/ Alkali activated materials as new sustainable materials for ceramic industry (Prof. Maria Chiara Bignozzi – maria.bignozzi@unibo.it)

- BUILDING INSTALLATIONS SYSTEMS

  • Innovative versus traditional tiling installation systems: tiling characterizations for restorations or new buildings constructions (Eng. Leonardo Sanseverino - sanseverino@centroceramico.it)

  • Smart materials/components to improve performances of buildings (Dr. Giuliana Bonvicini - bonvicini@centroceramico.it)

  • Building Information Modeling (BIM) to manage buildings restorations (Eng. Barbara Mazzanti - mazzanti@centroceramico.it)
