09/22 - FLAME Symposium: Antiferroelectric dielectrics for energy storage applications

The LOEWE project FLAME is pleased to announce this symposium that will be organised as an hybrid event from 27th to 29th September 2022 within the scope of the hybrid Materials Science and Engineering Congress (MSE).

The symposium aims to highlight recent developments and challenges in the design, characterization, and modeling of new dielectric materials for energy storage, with a particular focus on antiferroelectrics. With this, we provide an interdisciplinary platform for discussion, exchange of views, and the development of future collaborations in our field.

The MSE Congress is organized by the German Materials Society (DGM). With typically more than 1,500 participants, the MSE is one of the largest English-speaking congresses in the field of Material Science and Engineering across Europe.

Call for Abstracts: Abstract submissions for lectures or poster presentations are welcome in the following fields:

  • Material design
  • Characterization
  • Computational methods
  • Structure-property relationships (domain structure, crystallographic structure, and electronic structure)
  • Phase transitions

The deadline for submission is the 28th of February 2022.

Why Crystal Structure Matters: Decoding the Performance of Calcium Phosphate Biomaterials

In the world of calcium phosphate biomaterials, crystal structure is often the silent driver behind a material’s success—or failure. Whether we are developing bone graft substitutes or studying bioceramic interactions at the tissue interface, understanding the underlying crystal lattice isn’t just helpful—it’s essential.
