12/24 - STOP Antimicrobial Coatings Conference
The STOP (Surface Transfer Of Pathogens) research project and ECerS are co-organising the Antimicrobial Coatings Conference on Thursday 5th December and Friday 6th December 2024 at Van der Valk hotel, Mons, Belgium.
FREE EVENT - the participation fees are covered by the STOP project but participants may choose to attend (and pay 60 € for) the conference dinner on Thursday evening.
Tentative programme:

- Introduction
- Prof. Artemis Stamboulis, Scientific coordinator of the STOP project
- Mr. Dimcho Dimov, European Commission “The need for novel antimicrobial nanocoatings”
- Keynote speaker, TBD
- Innovative antimicrobial materials and structures. (On metals, plastics, glass, textiles…).
- Modes of action: how to kill microbes or prevent their spread via surfaces (fomites)
- From lab to market: use cases, scale-up, sustainability, safety, & regulatory approval

2027 ECerS International Ceramist Student Exchange Program – 1st call - ICACC 2027
In the frame of the 2027 ECerS International Student exchange program, ECerS is opening a call to allow grants to European Students to attend the 51st International Conference and Expo on Advanced Ceramics and Composites (ICACC 2027) to be held from 24th to 29th January 2027 in Daytona Beach, USA, as well as the IGNITE MSE (International Gathering and Networking for Individuals to Explore Materials Science and Engineering) event that will be held on Sunday 24th January 2027.
