Report on yCAM 2025
The 2025 edition of the young Ceramists Additive Manufacturing Forum (yCAM) was organized by ECerS at INP ENSIACET in Toulouse, France, from 23 to 25 April 2025.

yCAM is a symposium and a forum on Additive Manufacturing of Ceramics dedicated to young scientists and is an initiative of Europe Makes Ceramics (EMC), the Additive Manufacturing network of ECerS. Everyone interested in AM who is a student, young researcher or young professional was welcome to join the event.
yCAM 2025 was a place for open discussion, combining high-quality scientific presentations with a fresh and informal discussion at all levels, from learning the basics of new technologies to sharing practical experiences.
The main topics of the 2025 forum were:
- Material jetting technologies (MJ, BJ)
- Vat photopolymerization (DLP, SLA, 2PP, Hologram)
- Materials extrusion technologies (FFF, DIW)
- Emerging, hybrid and multi-material technologies
- Applications: dental and medical application, energy storage and transformation, space
- Technology: pre- and post-processing techniques, toolpath optimization, online monitoring, digitalisation
- Analysis: mechanical testing, powder and slurry analysis
Some numbers about yCAM 2025:
- There were 105 participants attending coming from 19 countries (Armenia, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine, United Kingdom).
- 35 oral presentations were given
- Two posters session were held with a total of 40 posters presented.
To facilitate the participation of young researchers, 20 travel grants of up to 500 € were sponsored by the JECS Trust. Priority was given to oral presentations and the abstract evaluation.
For the third consecutive year, 2 awards were given to young researchers participating to the forum:
- the award for Best Oral presentation was awarded to Maxim Isachenkov, from Politécnico di Milano, Italy,
- the award for Best Poster presentation was awarded to Maria Camila Zapata Lopez from the University of Toulouse, France.

Next Deadline to apply to the JECS Trust for Mobility projects is 28th February 2026!
Please note that the decisions of the JECS Trust board will not be known before mid-April 2026. Activities submitted for the deadline of 28th February 2026 for support from the JECS Trust should then not begin before Mid-May 2026.
Obituary - Professor Athena Tsetsekou
The Greek Scientific Community mourns the loss of our dear colleague Professor Athena Tsetsekou (64), Professor at the National Technical University of Athens, at the School of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering, and President of the Hellenic Ceramic Society.
