Research topics :

SPS (Spark Plasma Sintering) technology, also known as FAST (Field Assisted Sintering Technology), enables effective consolidation of pure metal powders, metal alloys as well as ceramic and metal composites. The key aspect of FAST technology is the ability to perform the sintering process at a much lower temperature than other available methods. This has a positive effect on smaller grain growth and gives greater possibilities for the materials created. The advantages of FAST also include very short sintering time and uniformity of the resulting material. GeniCore U-FAST, thanks to its advanced heating system based on the unique shape of the current pulses allows to achieve much better results than with other available SPS devices. This is why GeniCore uses term U-FAST which means Upgraded-Field Assisted Sintering Technology.

The GeniCore research activities are focused on:

  • Design and construction of sintering devices in FAST technology
  • Manufacturing and characterization of materials in FAST technology (e.g. Sintered Carbides, Bulk
  • Metallic Glasses, Thermoelectric Materials, Sputtering Targets, Transparent Ceramics)
  • DEC - Diamond Enhanced Carbide - the result of GeniCore’s Pulse Plasma Compaction technology
